Digital Binders for Middle School Students: A Look at Social Studies and Science Examples
By Tina Schneider

In our ongoing series about how teachers can create helpful binders for students, today we’re focusing on a great example of two middle school social studies and science class binders.
In our video demo, you’ll see how Mr.M’s 7th grade students can navigate the binder to find study tips, test-taking advice, motivational videos and weekly agendas. At the same time, it’s arranged so that Mr. M can also quickly pull up important forms – like parent volunteer sign-up sheets – and easily share them with a link to the binder tab.
One interesting tab we highlight is the “Reasons Why History Occurs,” where topics like geography, economics, technology, and politics come together to explain historical events in an engaging way. There’s even a fun Pirate Map project, complete with all the materials ready for each year’s class.
Our video below shows how a digital binder can work from a student’s perspective, giving them more control over their learning by making it easy to revisit resources, and from a teacher’s perspective, making it easier to keep everything organized and shareable.
