Story: Susie Tiggs

LiveBinders became Susie’s go-to platform for bringing clarity to complex ecosystems of shared drives, links, and training materials.
Susie built more than 100 public and private binders, each designed to solve real challenges. Instead of sending long email threads or re-sharing the same links over and over, she simply updates a binder and directs people to it.
Learn Why Susie Chose LiveBinders
Susie needed more than a place to stash files or hoard bookmarks. She needed a living, centralized hub that made every new finding immediately accessible to everyone she supported. LiveBinders let her gather answers to individual questions into one “living document” instead of chasing bookmarks or old email attachments. She can update materials without reformatting or duplicating files, and welcome contributions from educators, families, and specialists so the binders evolve alongside real needs. Most importantly, it gives educators and families one dependable, accessible place to turn for the latest Deaf and Hard of Hearing resources.
Key Outcomes of Susie’s LiveBinders System
-
Faster issue resolution: When a stakeholder raises a question, Susie builds a binder immediately, eliminating back-and-forth emails and ensuring solutions reach everyone at once.
-
Unified DeafED resource network: Hundreds of curated binders bring together tools, tutorials, and templates giving educators and families one trusted hub for Deaf and Hard of Hearing services.
-
Equitable access for all learners: Accessible design choices and UDL-inspired strategies ensure that materials—videos, ASL story resources, and tactile guides—serve both specialized and general education students.
-
Scalable professional development: Ready-to-use binder templates and embedded workshop slides let districts roll out training consistently, without reinventing content for each new cohort.
-
Community-driven growth: Contributions from teachers, interpreters, and parents keep Susie’s binders current; this collaborative model expands resources organically across regions and roles.
Her system is self-sustaining. As more people use the binders, more people contribute to them. She describes it as a living model that simplifies collaboration and grows with community needs.
If someone asks a question, I build a LiveBinder because if one person needs the info, others will too. And since it’s a living document, I keep updating it and encourage others to contribute back. The more people collaborate, the better it gets.
