Technology, Attention, and Second Language Learning
One aspect of technology that captivates me is its universal appeal. Regardless of culture, people around the world are fascinated by technology. There's an intriguing allure to its patterns that seems to attract and even addict our brains. Just imagine if we could spark the same level of engagement in our students. Consider the incredible possibilities that would unfold if our students could maintain deep absorption and motivation for extended periods of time.
Mastering a foreign language demands extensive mental effort and repetition. The key ingredient here is attention. The day our students can actively listen, repeat, read, write, submit assignments, and receive prompt, meaningful feedback while remaining focused, interested, and joyfully challenged, we will have discovered a method to expedite and optimize the acquisition of foreign languages.
