School Enrollment And Classroom Placement Practice Resources
This binder provides approaches of enrollment policies that are designed to achieve integration and create diverse schools.
These approaches should serve as a starting place for possible enrollment policies as you develop your integration strategy and can be used individually or in combination with one another as components of a plan to address the specific needs of your district. Please also note that these examples only address enrollment policies, which is a critical component, but alone will not create the integration we aim to achieve as part of the New York State Integration Program (NYSIP).

NYSED CR-S Education Framework: Curated Resource List
Culturally responsive-sustaining education is grounded in a cultural view of learning and human development in which multiple expressions of diversity (e.g., race, social class, gender, language, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, disability) are recognized and regarded as assets for learning. Culturally responsive-sustaining education shifts from a focus on historical conditions of inequality to ideas that shape access, participation and outcomes of learners. A successful integration strategy requires an understanding and implementation of culturally responsive-sustaining practices. These practices must be combined with enrollment policies designed to achieve integration and diverse schools and classrooms, which are outlined in accompanying binders entitled School Enrollment/Classroom Placement" and "Enrollment Examples".
