OFFICIAL AoE Family & Community Engagement Portfolio
It is clear that family engagement is critical to early learning program success, yet many programs find parent engagement a problem, failing to see how critical a role parents play as their childs first and most important teacher, and failing to understand just how much family and community engagement can add to a program. On the heels of its leadership in the Early Learning Councils Family and Community Engagement Committee and its on the ground experience in implementing partnerships to strengthen parent engagement, Illinois Action for Children proposes to raise standards of practice in this critical area.

ED 406- Family Community Relationships Project Binder
Hello, my name is Miss Deborah Nesti. I am a 23-year-old student currently completing my goal of becoming a successful Elementary School Teacher. This binder is a website resource that I like to use in order to express some of the material I have learned in the process of becoming a teacher. It includes a variety of information on families and communities and how we all work together to enhance a childs development with education. All my life I have loved working with children. Watching them grow and learn about the world is an amazing experience full of wonder and excitement. In my opinion, there is no better gift than being able to help in that process. As a future teacher, I hope to further along the education and life experience of my students and watch as they all transform along this amazing process of growing up. All of my education and practices reflect my number one goal as a teacher which is to do everything in my power to create a positive and healthy learning environment for my students. I hope to be able to be a part of the impotent network of individuals, from faculty and staff to parents and family members, and help bridge them all in order to create a health learning experience that encourages positive grow and development. To have the privilege into the small window of a childs life and to be able to support and encourage positive growth whenever possible is my number one goal. Children are the future and we are merely the tools in helping to shape the future so together let us make it a good one.
