London Fashion Week Gossip
In actuality, London Fashion Week was cancelled as a result of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8. Designers and the British Fashion Council had a conference call a week or two ago. In response to that request, the London fashion community came together to organise the events during the planned week in a way that respected both the status of the country and the industry's planning, which in many cases had already gone too far to be reversed. The established founder of JW Anderson and creative head of LVMH-owned Loewe, Jonathan Anderson, clearly remarked that cancelling might have a negative impact on newer, smaller enterprises. The schedule of runway performances, occasions, and parties has been condensed in response to the monarch's passing and it begins today.
