The Integrated Classroom and the Role of the Educator
Introduction: This presentation will touch base on the role of the educator in an integrated classroom. It will also discuss the role social learning plays within an organization. Social learning environments are made up of many aspects: social networking, tagging content, social bookmarking, file sharing, communicating with others, collaborating with others, blogging, podcasting, RSS feeds, and micro blogging (“How to create a social learning environment,” 2009). To create a social learning environment within an organization training on how to use social media tools, as well as an organization's policies using these tools, is imperative. There are many advantages as well as disadvantages to using social media tools in a learning environment. "Leaders have always conveyed their visions. Now they use blogs, email, newsletters, video, and audio to widen their reach and to engage co-workers in conversation ()."
