FUNCTIONAL SKILLS LIFE RESOURCE
Functional skills are often acquired naturally however, for students with low-incidence exceptionalities that is not typically the case. These students need to be taught specific skills that they will need in order to live independent and fulfilling lives stemming from school through adulthood. Functional skills are also known as life skills. They are the skills people need to lead their everyday lives. Some examples of functional skills are cooking, using the post office, getting dressed, ordering something at a restaurant, grocery shopping, cleaning, etc.
