Teaching English Language Learners
Welcome! My name is Tiffany Wilson. The students in my classroom call me Ms. Wilson! When we teachers go out into our classrooms, we will more than likely encounter students who do not speak the same language as that we teach. It is our duty as teachers to figure out a way to educate them in a way that they can understand. Understandably so, some teachers may not know how to bridge the gap between their way of teaching and the way that ELLs need to be taught. It is because of this that I have decided to make this LiveBinder. This Teaching English Language Learners binder is a useful tool for anyone who is looking to learn more about the many different teaching strategies that there are today to help educators better teach ELLs. Included in this binder is information about exploring culture, the legalities of teaching English Language Learners, BICS and CALP, teaching tips, and two mini lessons to implement with ELL students.

Common Core: English Language Arts
This binder is an example of what's possible in the creation of a live knowledge forum for English Language Arts. I've based this binder on the College & Career Readiness Anchor Standards from the new Common Core. In creating your binder, be sure to add "LiveBinderIt" to your browser toolbar to add resources throughout the Institute. Remember to consult the tutorials on how to create a collaborative LiveBinder as needed. Happy Bindering!
