Thematic Unit on Death and Grief
This binder captures a unit on dark themes. The unit, titled "Life, Death, and Everything in Between", allows students to explore content that they have been previously shielded from. Through exploring rich texts such as The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley poems by Emily Dickinson and Sylvia Plath, as well as films like Pixar's Up and other artistic forms, students will be able to identify the beauty in one's loss. They will be introduced to ways to think uniquely to grief and death, and apply their knowledge in real-life, for which our classroom topics are inevitable human experiences.
