3rd Grade Reading SOL Review Toolkit
This binder is designed to support teachers with at-their-fingertips resources for reviewing (and teaching differently) the gap area Reading SOLs. It presupposes that students have been previously introduced to the standards in meaningful, engaging instruction within a larger conceptual unit.
The majority of the resources are directly from VDOE. "VDOE Lesson" tabs are from the VDOE ESS for English. "Practice and Apply" tabs are question stems or sample questions derived from the VDOE Released Tests and VDOE Student Analysis powerpoints of gap areas.
Any resources not from VDOE will include the name of the external source (i.e., FCRR, Adlit.org, ReadWorks, etc.) in the tab title. We hope this resource is helpful. This is a living document and teachers are encouraged to suggest additional SOL review resources to cynthia.mcdougal@acps.k12.va.us. A big thank you to members of the Vertical ELA Committee for their contributions to the binder.
