Black Students and Education
For decades there has a been a disproportionate representation of minorities in special education, specifically African American children. The articles within the Annotated Bibliography Tab examine this problem, the roots of it, the reasons behind it, potential remedies, and other connecting problems. The teacher tab contains resources for teachers to understand implicit bias's role in the disproportionality of African American students and potential remedies and ways to promote diversity in the classroom. The Parent Tab contains resources for parents to understand their child's rights, navigating education, and information on being advocates for their children. (6/2/20 - I am working on adding and editing, reach out with anything you think would contribute to this)
