The goal of this exciting statewide conference is to bring together national and local speakers and presenters who will share innovative and proven practical approaches in the area of transition of youth with emotional and mental health disabilities, specifically addressing prevention, employment, community engagement, and systems of care. Participants will have the opportunity to advance their transition knowledge and practical skills related to positive post-school outcomes for youth with mental health disabilities. The conference will focus on 5 specialty tracks, including best practices in systems of care, education, employment training, and demonstration model programs. Sessions will include a shared school-student-family-agency-community agenda to bring high quality and evidence-based mental health transition advocacy, prevention, and intervention to students and families. Participants will include mental health professionals, state agency personnel, employment support providers, secondary and postsecondary educators, individuals with mental health diversity, parents, and family and community advocates. This exciting and much-needed event is sponsored by the Florida Association of People Supporting Employment First (FL APSE), Florida's Multiagency Network for Students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (SEDNET/FL DOE), Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (FL VR) and the Florida Department of Children and Families (FL DCF).
