We hope that this will be a valuable resource for all teachers that are considering implementing social media applications within their classrooms and would like to begin with Edmodo. Whether looking to use it as a course management system, learning environment, or as an online extension of your classroom, this resource should provide valuable insight into how we utilize this program in our classrooms as well as a number of resources out there that offer the insight of many educators that are currently utilizing Edmodo.

How Does Mr. Ryan Use it? |
Currently in pilot-mode, Edmodo is a part of the seventh grade social studies curriculum for the remainder of the school year. Students currently use the site to: submit assignments, receive instructor feedback, and see the class calendar. The teacher uses Edmodo in order to send important links, reminders, and encourage students to share their own resources. Additionally, discussion questions have been posed that require student responses and a continued discussion outside of the classroom. Students will be posting their own assignments that can be shared/ embedded within Edmodo (i.e. Glogster EDU) so that students can see each other's work and provide feedback. Overall, Edmodo has greatly enhanced the way the classroom operates and communication with the students has become even clearer and more transparent. |
